In a little less in a month, I’ll be leaving for Peru! When I travel international, I’ve been to many European countries and the U.S. neighbor Canada, but I have never been to South America. Experiencing a new culture, new food and a gorgeous scenery are only some of the reasons I would like to go to Peru (another is practicing my Spanish, could use the practice)!
Machu Picchu is one place I’m very excited to see. From the vast ancient structures, to the diverse flora and fauna, and the resilience of Inca civilization, I can’t wait to hike it myself. I’ve seen it in plenty of movies like Transformers, Rise of the Beasts (which I am a huge Transformer fan, you should see my collection) with the scenery of the tropical rainforests and the views of the towering mountains in the back of the films, I can’t wait to hike it myself.
Anytime I traveled, if that is with my friends of my family, I love learning about the history of that place. I’ve been to Ticonderoga, NY plenty of times for Star Trek conventions, but my most memorable parts was meeting William Shatner and learning about the history of pencils. Or when I went to Lake George, NY and learned about the lake monster that haunts those parts, Champ! Machu Picchu is no different. I want to learn and explore the history of the Inca civilization and how they functioned as a society; Machu Picchu will give a glimpse of that.
As the day approaches for leaving for Peru, I can’t wait to explore, eat amazing food and hike across Machu Picchu!
